Tax Notices

 A 2% Tax Discount on the municipal portion of the taxes, is available to residents who prepay  their property taxes in the months of January and February.  Please see Bylaw 956/19 Tax Discount Bylaw for further details.

Monthly Tax Installment Form edit

Taxes are due by July 31st of the current tax year.  To avoid the 12% late penalty charge on August 1st, payments must be dated no later than July 31 and envelopes must be post marked by the post office "July 31".  (12% penalty on current year tax levy only)

Any balance owing on the tax roll account after December 31st will be charged an additional 18% penalty.

Monthy Tax Installment Program
If you wish to sign up for the monthly tax installment program your taxes have to be paid up to date.  The withdrawals will start in January to December. 

eg.  1st six months payments will be based on 2008 tax levy then once the 2009 levy is set the remaining payments will be split over the next six months.

Tax Notices

Combined Assessment and Property Tax Notices are mailed out mid May annually.  MGA 337 - A tax notice is deemed to have been received 7 days after it is sent. If you have not received your property tax notice, a print copy can be picked up at the Town Office during regular office hours.  It is the responsibility of the property owner to ensure they receive their notice.  Taxes are due no later than the 31st of July of each year.

Assessment complaints must be filed within 60 days of the date of mailing of the assessment notices and there is a due date printed on the Combined Assessment and Property Tax Notice.  An assessment complaint may be made by completing the appropriate form available at the Town office or from the links below.

Appeals must be accompanied by the applicable appeal fee to be valid.

Taxes are due no later than July 31; after the due date a 12% penalty will be added. Any outstanding taxes as of December 31 will have an additional penalty applied of 18%.
